Built
in 1650 as a coaching inn, and referred to in Wordsworth's poem 'The Waggoner',
the Swan Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the Lake District. Nestled in the Cumbrian
countryside, with views across the Fells and access to several challenging
trails, this cosy and inviting hotel is ideal for walkers and cyclists. With
open sunny vistas in summer and blazing log fires in winter, The Swan is the
ideal base for exploring the wonders of the Lake District.
Offering
exclusive use to large parties, plus a spacious private garden and unique
meeting facilities, the Swan Hotel is equipped to host a wide range of events
and teambuilding activities. After exploring the surrounding countryside relax
with a delicious meal in the restaurant or enjoy the convivial atmosphere of
the Walkers Bar before retiring to a traditionally furnished, comfortable room.
The Swan Hotel is
ideal for seminars, interviews and smaller meetings for two to 40 people.
Choose from the Cygnet Room which is located within the hotel, or the
self-contained cottage which can acommodate up to 15 delegates. Both venues
offer a comfortable and informal atmosphere and can be adapted to suit your
purpose and preferences. The hotel is located next to three large meadows which
can be used for team building activities or marquee functions.
